The Poche Centre

Thanks to the generosity of Mr Greg Poche, The Melanoma Institute Australia is developing a state of the art, clinical care facility in North Sydney.  The building will be an integrated cancer treatment facility, enabling the best possible care for melanoma patients.

The Poche Centre, as it will be known, will be a focal point for melanoma treatment, education and research for melanoma throughout Sydney, and for the rest of Australia.  It will house research facilities that will be at the forefront of developing effective treatment and prevention of melanoma, as well as a training centre for a broad range of clinicians and scientists.

Designed by Daryl Jackson Robyn Dyke and constructed by AW Edwards, the building is approximately  8224 m2 and includes a 100 seat auditorium, 6 fully contained consulting suites which will house our surgeons, dermatologists, oncologists and other allied health professionals, other educational facilities including large conference rooms, a small research space for our pathologists and a car park consisting of 2 levels which will greatly expand car parking facilities on the campus.  The building will also house our clinical trials, database, biospecimen and biostatistics groups which are core groups of staff who support our research effort, and represent our ongoing relationship with the University of Sydney.

The Centre is due for completion at the end of 2009, and we look forward to welcoming you all into our new home in 2010.
