The Poche Centre

The Poche Centre, made possible by the generous donation of $40 million by philanthropist Mr Greg Poche, is the largest single tumour cancer centre in Australia. It is a purpose built, world class, integrated cancer treatment facility enabling the best possible care for melanoma patients.

The opening of the Poche Centre signals a new era in Australia’s ability to progress research, education and treatment of melanoma. The Poche Centre houses over 70 clinicians, clinical trials staff and researchers of the very highest level of expertise plus the largest melanoma patient database and integrated tumour bank in the world.

Designed by Daryl Jackson Robyn Dyke and constructed by AW Edwards, the building is approximately  8224 m2 and includes a 100 seat auditorium, six fully contained consulting suites which will house our surgeons, dermatologists, oncologists and other allied health professionals, other educational facilities including large conference rooms, a small research space for our pathologists and a car park consisting of 2 levels which will greatly expand car parking facilities on the campus.  The building will also house our clinical trials, database, biospecimen and biostatistics groups which are core groups of staff who support our research effort, and represent our ongoing relationship with The University of Sydney and St Vincent's and Mater Health Sydney.
