Research

The Melanoma Institute Australia, and previously through the Sydney Melanoma Unit, has an established strong tradition of clinically-based multi disciplinary melanoma research, including biology, pathology, cancer genetics and immunology.

This research is conducted and supported by three pivotal groups within the Melanoma Institute Australia. These are:

It is through these groups that melanoma oncologists, research fellows, geneticists, pathologists, radiologists and immunologists can conduct vital studies into the prevention, detection, diagnosis and treatment of the melanoma disease.

The development of the Poche Centre will allow this research to flourish with new research laboratories, relationships with other cancer research groups and the development of a new melanoma biospecimen bank.
