SUMMARY:2025 Skin Cancer Update: MIA and ASPS Satellite Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Multidisciplinary healthcare professionals are invited to learn about the latest updates in the diagnosis and management of skin cancer at our 2025 Skin Cancer Update\, a satellite meeting of the Plastic Surgery Congress 2025. \nHosted by Melanoma Institute Australia (MIA) and held in collaboration with the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons\, this meeting will provide attendees with an opportunity to hear from multidisciplinary experts across all stages of melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer. \nChairs:\n• A/Prof Sydney Ch’ng (Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon and Head & Neck Surgeon\, MIA\, RPA and COBLH)\n• Dr Tam Quinn (Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon\, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre) \nProgram:* \n• Updates in management of cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma – A/Prof Sydney Ch’ng (Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon and Head & Neck Surgeon\, MIA\, RPA and COBLH)\n• Updates in management of basal cell carcinoma – Dr Alexandra O’Neill (Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon and Head & Neck Surgeon\, RPH and Fiona Stanley Hospital)\n• Updates in management of Merkel cell carcinoma – Prof Angela Hong (Radiation Oncologist\, MIA and COBLH)\n• Dermatological management of non-melanoma skin cancer – A/Prof Deshan Sebaratnam (Dermatologist\, Liverpool Hospital | Conjoint A/Prof\, UNSW)\n• Updates in management of melanoma in-situ – Prof Pascale Guitera (Dermatologist\, MIA and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital)\n• Sentinel node biopsy for thin melanoma – A/Prof Serigne Lo (Biostatistician\, MIA) and A/Prof Alexander Varey (Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon\, MIA and Westmead Hospital)\n• Sentinel node biopsy in the era of effective immunotherapy – A/Prof Matteo Carlino (Medical Oncologist\, MIA and Westmead Hospital)\n• Management of macroscopic or clinical Stage III melanoma – Prof David Gyorki (Surgical Oncologist\, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre) \nThe meeting will conclude with a multidisciplinary interactive case study panel discussion led by Chair A/Prof Sydney Ch’ng and an interactive quiz led by Dr Tam Quinn. \nThis event is suitable for Surgeons\, Dermatologists\, Medical Oncologists\, Primary Care Physicians\, Trainees and other healthcare professionals and researchers. \nThe cost of ticket includes presentations\, afternoon tea and a ticket to the networking event at the Champagne Bar\, Sofitel afterwards. \n *Program is subject to change. \nDate: 1pm – 5pm\, Wednesday 25 June 2025 \nVenue: ICC Sydney\, 14 Darling Drive\, Sydney \nREGISTER NOW
