SUMMARY:MRFF Preventive and Public Health Research Initiative - 2026 Consumer-Led Research Grant
DESCRIPTION:The Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) – 2026 Consumer-Led Research Grant Opportunity will support research that: \n\nStream 1 (Incubator): identify health priorities\, develop new approaches and/or methodologies and conduct pilot studies addressing health issues and/or barriers that:\n\nare co-led\, co-produced and/or co-designed with consumers\nare in partnership with health services\nincrease consumers’ understanding of\, and involvement in\, research.\n\n\n\n\nStream 2 (Targeted Call for Research): develop and/or test scalable and sustainable approaches\, in partnership with consumers\, that enable self-care interventions or improve quality of life and/or survivorship care. Approaches are for individuals from one or more priority populations\, who have experienced or are experiencing long term diseases and conditions. Approaches may\, where appropriate\, also deliver for the individual’s families\, carers and communities.\nTopic A: Research projects that focus on cancer\nTopic B: Research projects that focus on long term physical diseases and conditions other than cancer\nTopic C: Research projects that focus on mental health challenges\, diseases or conditions.\n\nThe anticipated outcome of the research is to improve the health and wellbeing of Australians by: \n\nStream 1 (Incubator): developing effective approaches for addressing health priorities for communities and that build capability for consumer involvement in research\nStream 2 (Targeted Call for Research): developing effective approaches to improve the health and/or wellbeing for those who have experienced or are experiencing long term diseases and conditions\n\n\nKey Dates:\nMinimum data due: 8 July 2026\nApplications close: 5 August 2026 \nSEE GRANT GUIDELINESSEE WEBSITE

SUMMARY:CDMRP Melanoma Research Program
DESCRIPTION:The Melanoma Research Program (MRP) released program announcements for the following funding opportunities: \n\n\n\n·        Focused Program Award – Rare Melanomas \nThis award supports a multidisciplinary research program of at least two\, but not more than three\, distinct but complementary research projects addressing an overarching question relevant to rare melanomas. \n·        Idea Award \nThe Idea Award supports innovative\, exploratory\, high-risk/potentially high-reward research. Novelty and innovation are expected to be key aspects of the proposed project. By the end of the Idea Award funding period\, the anticipated outcomes of successful efforts should establish proof of principle and obtain preliminary data to secure follow-on funding. \n·        Melanoma Academy Scholar Award \nSupports the addition of independent\, early career investigators (Scholars) who are no more than seven years from their initial faculty appointment to the Melanoma Research Program (MRP) Melanoma Academy. The Melanoma Academy is a unique\, interactive virtual academy focused on bringing together established investigators and Scholars to develop a network of successful\, highly productive melanoma researchers in a collaborative research and career development environment. \n·        Survivorship Research Award \nThe award addresses the relatively new and underfunded area of melanoma-specific survivorship by supporting a broad range of innovative and impactful research that has the intended outcome of improving the health and well-being of melanoma survivors\, their families and/or their care partners in the near term. Proposed studies focusing exclusively on animal models or considering survival only without consideration of quality of life\, overall health and/or function are not responsive to this funding opportunity. \n·        Team Science Award \nSupports a broad range of hypothesis-driven\, multidisciplinary studies that have a short-term goal of advancing the state of the science in melanoma research and/or patient care. Team science is a synergistic effort that harnesses techniques\, approaches and perspectives from multiple disciplines and/or therapeutic areas to address complex\, multi-dimensional problems that will impact patient outcomes. \nKey Dates: \nSubmission Deadline (Pre-application-Pre-Proposal): 13 July 2026\nFocused Program Award – Rare Melanomas\nIdea Award\nTeam Science Award \nSubmission Deadline (Pre-application-Pre-Proposal): 22 September 2026\nMelanoma Academy Scholar Award\nSurvivorship Research Award \nApplication Submission Deadline: 14 October 2026 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSEE GRANT GUIDELINESSEE WEBSITE

SUMMARY:MRFF 2022 Frontier Health and Medical Research Grant
DESCRIPTION:This grant program will support researchers to pursue big ideas to develop new products and interventions and implement these into clinical practice\, benefiting patients\, clinicians\, and the health system. \nThis grant opportunity offers funding to support medical research and medical innovation programs of research (up to $25 million per program) that deliver a ‘moonshot’ by creating a treatment for a currently serious and incurable health condition\, through a series of linked projects. The program of research can propose to develop novel health technologies and/or re‑purpose existing health technologies in a novel way. \nThe initial application process to secure funding through this grant opportunity will be conducted in two stages: \n\nexpression of interest (EOI) – outlining a proposed program of research comprising of a series of linked projects with a 10-year time horizon\nfull application\, (invitation only – following EOI) for a project of up to 5 years under the program of research.\n\nApplicants may propose to commence research at any stage in the research pipeline from proof-of-concept\, with the intention of achieving full implementation of the proposed technology in 10 years. \nFunding for subsequent projects under the program of research that continue to progress the technology towards full implementation can be sought by submitting additional full applications to this grant opportunity (i.e. applicants do not need to recommence with an EOI). These applications may be submitted by invitation only. \n\nKey Dates:\nExpressions of Interest close: 31 March 2027\nLast grants awarded by: 30 June 2028 \nSEE GRANT GUIDELINESSEE WEBSITE
