DESCRIPTION:The Ramaciotti Medal is an annual award of $50\,000. SUMMARY:The Viertel Charitable Foundation Clinical Investigator Awards
DESCRIPTION:Establishment grants for Clinical Investigators have been initiated by the Foundation in order to stimulate and encourage clinical research in Australia. In particular the grants are intended to assist new investigators to establish their research programs at the time of the difficult transition from doctoral and post-doctoral training posts to their first definitive clinical positions in an academic environment. Clinical Investigators are awarded a once only grant of $90\,000. \nEligible applicants will be medical graduates or graduates of other clinical disciplines who have completed both their clinical and research training which will normally be at doctoral level and are commencing their first definitive clinical position\, or have been in such a post for no more than 36 months on 1 May of the year of application. \nApplicants should be actively engaged in clinical work and pursuing health and medical research in a university clinical department\, a teaching hospital\, a clinical research unit of a research institute or in an academic general practice setting. The applications will be judged predominantly on the quality of the applicant’s track record and career achievements to date. DESCRIPTION:The Rosebud Running Festival course will cover sections along the foreshore trails (Bay trial) with runners being able to enjoy running through some stunning landscapes with Port Phillip Bay as the backdrop. The course will take competitors from the Start/Finish line at Rosebud to McCrae and back to Rosebud for the 5km and 10km events. The Marathon (2 Laps) + Half Marathon competitors will continue past the start line at Rosebud and head towards Capel Sound with the turnaround just before the Rye Pier and finish at Rosebud. The weekend features a variety of running & walking events to suit all ages and fitness levels. DESCRIPTION:The 2026 MOGA Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) will bring together Australian medical oncologists to reflect on a timely theme: \nReimagining Cancer Care: Is Less Doing More? \nIn recent years\, oncology has found itself at a fascinating crossroads. With ever-deepening insights into tumour biology\, immunotherapy\, molecular profiling\, and patient-centred care\, we are beginning to ask a powerful and\, at times\, uncomfortable question: Are we sometimes doing too much? \nWe are now confronting the possibility that treatment de-escalation is not just a compromise\, but potentially a pathway to more humane\, precise\, and effective care. This conversation extends well beyond protocols and guidelines. It challenges us to think deeply about patient autonomy\, shared decision-making\, and what quality of life truly means in the era of personalised medicine. \nThis ASM will bridge disciplines and perspectives—from surgical oncology to medical and radiation oncology\, to palliative care and psychosocial support. DESCRIPTION:It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to the 2026 XXXVI Congress of the International Academy of Pathology in Fukuoka\, bringing together the most enthusiastic and dedicated scholars in the field of pathology.
