DESCRIPTION:Discovery Projects for funding commencing in 2027 will be run in a two-stage application process\, commencing with an Expression of Interest (EOI). Shortlisted applicants will be invited to submit a full application. \nDiscovery Projects may be undertaken by individual researchers or research teams to: \n\nexpand knowledge base and research capacity in Australia\, and\neconomic\, commercial\, environmental\, social and/or cultural benefits for Australia.\n\nDiscovery Projects are for funding between $30\,000 and $500\,000 each year for up to 5 consecutive years. SUMMARY:Australian Melanoma Research Foundation Research Grants
DESCRIPTION:The AMRF will continue to support the next generation of melanoma researchers in Australia by providing research grants to post-graduate students and early career researchers. \nThe AMRF will fund research that contributes to the understanding and prevention of melanoma. The number of grants awarded in 2026 will depend on the quality of the applications and the funds requested. The AMRF will be selective in the research it supports. Any proposal to the Foundation for research funding will need to be contestable and show evidence of scientific merit within the national context. \nThe aim of the AMRF’s grants scheme is to support high quality research that is not fully funded through other grant schemes or from other sources.  AMRF funds are to be applied to offset the direct costs of the research. SUMMARY:The Viertel Charitable Foundation Clinical Investigator Awards
DESCRIPTION:Establishment grants for Clinical Investigators have been initiated by the Foundation in order to stimulate and encourage clinical research in Australia. In particular the grants are intended to assist new investigators to establish their research programs at the time of the difficult transition from doctoral and post-doctoral training posts to their first definitive clinical positions in an academic environment. SUMMARY:Rosebud Running Festival 2026
DESCRIPTION:The Rosebud Running Festival course will cover sections along the foreshore trails (Bay trial) with runners being able to enjoy running through some stunning landscapes with Port Phillip Bay as the backdrop. The course will take competitors from the Start/Finish line at Rosebud to McCrae and back to Rosebud for the 5km and 10km events. The Marathon (2 Laps) + Half Marathon competitors will continue past the start line at Rosebud and head towards Capel Sound with the turnaround just before the Rye Pier and finish at Rosebud. The weekend features a variety of running & walking events to suit all ages and fitness levels. This year marks a new chapter — the first Summit under the new name\, Skin Cancer New Zealand\, and the first to address all types of skin cancer\, not just melanoma. \nOur 2026 theme\, “Equity in action: Bridging gaps for skin cancer”\, reflects our commitment to ensuring prevention\, early detection\, treatment\, and support are accessible and equitable for everyone.
