SUMMARY:Westmead Research Hub EMCR Symposium
DESCRIPTION:The annual Westmead Research Hub EMCR Symposium brings together honest career journeys\, practical tips & tricks\, and high-quality oral presentations showcasing the incredible research from our EMCR community. \nHear from keynote speakers Professor Marc Wilkins and Professor Eddie Holmes who will share the real stories behind their career paths – what worked\, what didn’t\, and what they wish they’d known sooner. From navigating career transitions and building confidence to making the most of opportunities (and surviving setbacks)\, these sessions are all about practical advice you can actually use. \nAlongside the career-focused talks\, our programme features a series of short oral presentations and poster presentations highlighting innovative research from EMCRs across the research hub. \nWe will finish the day off with a panel discussion about “How to conduct impactful research” with A/Prof Emily Blyth\, Prof Hilda Pickett\, Prof Tony Weiss\, and Professor Michael Griffiths. \nWhether you’re figuring out your next step\, polishing your presentation skills\, or just keen to connect with fellow EMCRs who understand what you are going though\, this symposium promises insight\, encouragement\, and plenty of take-home tips. \nLocation: Westmead Innovation Centre\, Westmead\, NSW \nKey Date: 3 June 2026\, 8:30 am – 5 pm AEST \nRegistration Closes: 22 May 2026 \nFIND OUT MORE

SUMMARY:MOGA Annual Scientific Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The 2026 MOGA Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) will bring together Australian medical oncologists to reflect on a timely theme: \nReimagining Cancer Care: Is Less Doing More? \nIn recent years\, oncology has found itself at a fascinating crossroads. With ever-deepening insights into tumour biology\, immunotherapy\, molecular profiling\, and patient-centred care\, we are beginning to ask a powerful and\, at times\, uncomfortable question: Are we sometimes doing too much? \nWe are now confronting the possibility that treatment de-escalation is not just a compromise\, but potentially a pathway to more humane\, precise\, and effective care. This conversation extends well beyond protocols and guidelines. It challenges us to think deeply about patient autonomy\, shared decision-making\, and what quality of life truly means in the era of personalised medicine. \nThis ASM will bridge disciplines and perspectives—from surgical oncology to medical and radiation oncology\, to palliative care and psychosocial support. We will consider not only clinical evidence\, but also the ethical\, logistical\, and emotional dimensions of doing less. We will look at emerging biomarkers and novel drug targets that allow us to fine-tune therapy like never before. Exploring what it means to personalise care in the truest sense—not just through science\, but through listening. \nLocation: RACV Royal Pines\, Gold Coast\, Australia \nKey Dates: \nEarly Bird Registrations Close: 14 June 2026\nAbstract Submissions Close: 14 June 2026\nAbstract Selection Advice: 3 July 2026\nAbstract Acceptance by Presenter: 10 July 2026\nTravel Award Applications Open: 3 July 2026\nTravel Award Applications Close: 10 July 2026\nTravel Award Recipient Notification: 17 July 2026 \nFIND OUT MORE

SUMMARY:COSA Annual Scientific Meeting
DESCRIPTION:We are honoured to co-convene the 2026 COSA Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) to be held at the International Convention Centre (ICC) Sydney from Wednesday 11 to Friday 13 November 2026\, with pre-conference workshops being held on Tuesday 10 November. \nThe theme for the 2026 COSA ASM is The precision generation: From cancer prevention to personalised care. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis theme reflects how far cancer care has evolved; from a one-size-fits-all rigid approach\, to care that is increasingly tailored to the individual\, across the entire cancer journey. \nThe disease theme will have a strong focus on lung cancers\, alongside sessions addressing head and neck cancers\, early-onset cancers such as colorectal cancer\, and brain cancer\, including both primary and metastatic disease. As always\, equity will be embedded throughout the program\, reflecting COSA’s ongoing commitment to improving outcomes for all people affected by cancer. \nIt has been almost a decade since the COSA ASM was held in Sydney\, so we are excited to bring it back to showcase the remarkable advances that have transformed cancer care over this time\, including the molecular biomarker realm and the evolution of novel transformative therapeutics. \nAustralia has developed deep expertise across clinical care\, research and clinical trials\, implementation and policy\, and the program will highlight this local leadership alongside contributions from international experts in the fields of drug development\, precision oncology\, pharmacogenomics and palliative and supportive care. \n\n\n\n\n\nLocation: International Convention Centre (ICC)\, Sydney\, Australia \nKey Dates: \nDelegate Designed Symposia Submissions Close: 3 July 2026\nAbstract Submissions Close: 7 August 2026\nAbstract Decision Notification: 2 September 2026\nAbstract Acceptance by Presenter: 11 September 2026\nEarly Bird Registration Deadline: 11 September 2026\nPre-conference Workshops: 10 November 2026 \nFIND OUT MORE
