Melanoma March Wagga Wagga 2025

Loading Events

Melanoma March events are being held across Australia for the 14th year to raise awareness and help save lives from melanoma.

Melanoma March Wagga Wagga will be on Saturday 1 March.

Melanoma Institute Australia (MIA) is calling on all Australians to join its 2025 Melanoma March campaign, to raise funds and awareness about the disease that claims one Australian life every six hours.

Now open for registrations, MIA’s Melanoma March events will be held all across the country during March 2025 and are organised by volunteer committees impacted by melanoma.

Funds raised during Melanoma March 2025 will support the development and updating of the National Melanoma Clinical Guidelines, which are not funded by Government. These guidelines are vital to ensure all melanoma patients across Australia benefit from current evidence-based clinical best practice, reducing the burden of melanoma and helping to reach our mission of zero deaths.

Importantly, the events also provide an opportunity for patients and families to come together to support each other and remember those lost to the disease.

Australia has the highest melanoma rates in the world, with one person diagnosed every 30 minutes and one person dying from the disease every 6 hours. It is also the most common cancer affecting 20-39 year old Australians. Despite research breakthroughs, currently around 45% of advanced melanoma patients don’t respond or become resistant to new immunotherapy treatments.
