Abstract Background Immunotherapies have significantly improved the overall survival for patients with advanced melanoma. However, almost half of such patients either do not respond to the therapy or develop resistance to it, subjecting patients to ineffective treatments and unnecessary costs. Predictive biomarker testing can ensure that the patient receives the most effective therapy thereby reducing costs and toxicities. Stroma-infiltrating T cell spatiotypes define immunotherapy outcomes in adolescent and young adult patients with melanoma

Combined immunotherapy in melanoma patients with brain metastases: A multicenter international study.

Abstract Background: Ipilimumab plus nivolumab (COMBO) is the standard treatment in asymptomatic patients with melanoma brain metastases (MBM). We report a retrospective study aiming to assess the outcome of patients with MBM treated with COMBO outside clinical trials. Methods: Consecutive patients treated with COMBO have been included. Prognostic significance of sentinel node tumor burden in Merkel Cell Carcinoma.

Seasonal patterns of toxicity in melanoma patients treated with combination anti-PD-1 and anti-CTLA-4 immunotherapy.

Abstract Background: Immune checkpoint inhibitors are frequently associated with the development of immunotherapy-related adverse events (irAEs). The exact etiology, including the role of environmental factors, remains incompletely understood. Methods: We analyzed the records of 394 melanoma patients from three centers (northern and southern hemisphere). Definitive treatment with PD-1 blockade and radiation therapy of unresected primary desmoplastic melanoma of the nose

Abstract Two patients with primary desmoplastic melanoma of the nose were treated with definitive anti-PD-1 checkpoint inhibitor (anti-PD1) and radiation therapy. Both patients were technically resectable with partial rhinectomy but both declined for cosmetic reasons. The melanoma multidisciplinary team recommended that the patients receive PD1 blockade.
