Val oversees the collaborative research projects of MIA, their governance, reporting frameworks and funding (government and community grants).
With over 13 years experience at MIA, providing expertise in research ethics and governance, as well as operational roles in clinical trials and biospecimen bank management, Val is committed to melanoma research.
Val started her career in nursing as a registered nurse. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (in languages and Information Technology) from Sydney University, and a Master of Commerce degree (in Information Technology) from the University of NSW. Her passion for research commenced many years prior whilst working on applied artificial intelligence projects at Westpac.
