SHP Pilot Grants – Funding to Test and Implement Research Into Clinical Practice
Each year, Sydney Health Partners funds pilot projects that help clinicians, researchers and health professionals turn evidence into practical healthcare solutions and scale up the implementation of research for broader impact.
If you’re a health professional, clinician, or researcher leading research within Sydney Health Partners’ affiliated health services, a Pilot Grant could help you to:
- Test real-world implementation of research innovations
- Solve complex health system challenges with practical solutions
- Strengthen applications for major funding bodies (NHMRC, MRFF, TRGS)
Applications are now open for Sydney Health Partners 2026 Implementation Science Pilot Grants.
Sydney Health Partners are offering up to $220,000 in grants to support up to 11 pilot projects, with two of the projects to be funded by the Charles Perkins Centre Implementation Hub through the Jennie Mackenzie Research Fund.
Grant Categories:
Stream 1: SHP Implementation Science Pilot Grants (up to 9)
These grants require two Principal Investigators (PIs):
- One from the University of Sydney or an SHP Partner Medical Research Institute (MRI)
- One from an SHP Health Service Partner
Stream 2: CPC Implementation Hub Pilot Grants (x2)
These grants require two PIs – One must be a member of the Charles Perkins Centre:
- One must be a University of Sydney or SHP Partner MRI employee
- One from an SHP Health Service Partner
Key Dates:
Applications close: 3 July 2026, 5:00pm AEST
Successful applicants will be notified: August 2026
Grants will commence: from January 2027
