Melanoma Patient Advisor

In 2013 Craig Lawn had the shock of being told he an inoperable Stage IV melanoma and was given six months to live. Fortunately, he was able to participate in an MIA immunotherapy clinical trial which proved to be life-saving. Craig now plays a valuable role offering the patient’s perspective on our MIA Research Committee.

Craig has over 40 years of business and leadership experience. He was with PwC for over 31 years, and as a partner for 20 years. He was on the national executive and business leader for tax and private client teams for PwC Brisbane and Sydney.

Craig has decades of experience providing business advice to businesses and not for profit organisations to structure and optimise their business strategies.

Craig is currently a director and chair of Key Assets Ltd (foster care and children services), treasurer for The Red Room Company Ltd (arts charity), and recently retired as a director of Cleanspace Ltd. In addition to his role on the Melanoma Institute research and strategic advisory committees, he is also on ACEMID executive and consumer committees, an AI on a number of research grants, and is an advisor to a number of private company groups, public bodies and charities.
