Since Skin Cancer Tasmania merged with Melanoma Institute Australia in 2022, there has been a strengthening around the awareness of melanoma locally, enhanced services for patients and their families, and an increase in education opportunities for clinicians.

MIA Tasmania

Founded by Dianne Mason in 2014, Skin Cancer Tasmania started off its journey as Melanoma Tasmania, as a way of honouring Dianne’s mum, Judy Shelton, who passed away from the disease in 2004 after only an eight-week battle.

Dianne is now the State Manager – Tasmania for Melanoma Institute Australia.

Being part of Melanoma Institute Australia will help to bolster access to melanoma support services for melanoma patients in Tasmania as well as increase melanoma awareness and prevention, and expand opportunities for local clinicians to access leading melanoma education and research.
