Her family recently visited MIA’s Translational Research Laboratory at Charles Perkins Centre (University of Sydney) and heard first-hand how Helen’s generosity will help support melanoma research projects, and ensure her legacy will make a lasting difference.

UV exposure leading cause of preventable cancers for Australian men

A World Health Organisation global study published in the Nature Medicine journal showed that 2 in every 5 cancers could be prevented. It found that in Australia the leading risk factor for preventable cancers in men is exposure to UV radiation.
