Gina Savage was a bright light to all who knew and loved her. We have created this tribute page so everyone can share their messages and memories.
Gina lived every day to the fullest, and truly squeezed every minute out of life, all while remaining a true advocate for melanoma prevention and awareness.
Diagnosed with melanoma at just 20 years old, Gina spent the next eight years raising vital funds for research and advocating for melanoma prevention. She was the driving force behind The Six Hour Project, and supported Melanoma Institute Australia at its National Press Club address in Canberra last year.
Gina was the beloved daughter of Zoe and Joe, the much-loved little sister of Jack, and adored partner of Tom. She will be deeply missed by all her friends and a huge hole has been left in the lives of many. Our thoughts are with Gina’s family, her friends, and everyone who knew and loved her.
Please share your memories in the comments section below.
In lieu of flowers, Gina’s family has requested donations to MIA to help continue Gina’s legacy.

I never got to meet Gina, but I have been very lucky to have known of her. Having recently been diagnosed with Melanoma, a friend of Gina’s passed on to me who her oncologist was and I have been very fortunate to start my treatment with such an amazing team at Greenslopes, The PA and Mater Hospital. I’ll forever be thankful for Gina’s kind gesture
Thank you for sharing your journey so openly. What a legacy you are leaving. What a warrior. RIP Gina love from the Roma Millers.
I didn’t know Gina but I know many of her friends and she sounded incredible. Packed more into a short life than many do in a lifetime. A legacy in itself .

My darling baby muffin
Oh how you’re so so missed. You would have loved your send off, it felt very odd planning something without you to discuss every email or decision.
You’ll forever be in my heart, at every milestone, and be in the back of my mind, persuading me to hit the gas.
You made an everlasting footprint on this world in your short 28 years G. X
Sending deepest condolences to Zoe, Joe and family on the loss of their beautiful stoic Gina. Love the Scarlett family
Gina, we have all learned so much from you. You lived life to the absolute fullest and have taught us all to simply just be happy and make the most of every day. Your fighting spirit is so clearly evidenced by how far you made it with this terrible disease. And you made such a huge impact on the entire community with that extra time you fought so hard for. I will forever be in awe of your strength, resilience and grace. It is so unjust and hard to comprehend that someone with such a love for life can now be gone. You have the most amazing friends and family who organised a truely beautiful send off for you. It was a true testament to how special you are. Sending love to your family and loved ones. You will never be forgotten. You inspire me every day.
Your kind spirit and love for life inspires us all Gina, may you be forever happy and at peace xx
