Hosted by Melanoma Patients Australia (MPA) and Melanoma Institute Australia (MIA), the Melanoma Community Webinar Series includes three webinars held over three weeks. Each webinar provides the rare opportunity to hear from a MIA medical expert and a MPA community member as they focus on a different topic of interest each week. The webinar concludes with a Q&A panel discussion.
Webinar One – Spotlight on clinical trials

Webinar Two – Spotlight on mucosal melanoma
Presenters: MIA’s Medical Oncologist, A/Prof Matteo Carlino and MPA community member Judi Meloni.
In the clinical presentation, A/Prof Matt Carlino discusses:
– What is mucosal melanoma?
– How is it diagnosed and managed?
– What is on the horizon for new treatments for mucosal melanoma?

Webinar Three – Spotlight on fear of recurrence
Presenters: MIA’s Clinical Psychologists, Dr Lisa Gomes and Claire Gore and MPA community member, Ingrid Kivikoski.
The fear of melanoma coming back or progressing is a very common experience following a melanoma diagnosis.
The clinical presentation is delivered by MIA’s Clinical Psychology Service, Dr Lisa Gomes and Claire Gore. Their presentation provides information on:
• The nature and frequency of fear of cancer recurrence
• Common triggers for such fears and how to manage them
• Practical tips for dealing with fear of cancer recurrence
MPA community member, Ingrid Kivikoski, also shares her insights. The webinar concludes with a Q&A panel discussion.

I know we’ve touched base on the financial impact as well as the side effects from treatments
