The Australasian Melanoma Conference (#AMC2024), hosted by MIA in Sydney, brought together 776 multidisciplinary delegates from 12 countries to engage in insightful discussions, presentations and workshops, all dedicated to reaching our common goal of zero deaths from melanoma.

With 96 speakers, 3 keynote speeches, 33 oral presentations and 80 posters, and supported by 23 sponsors, the energy at AMC2024 was both inspiring and thought-provoking and certainly underpinned the conference theme of Together, Amplifying Impact.

The reach of AMC was wide. A Nursing stream was included in the main program for the first time, and two satellite meetings were held by Melanoma and Skin Cancer Trials (MASC) and Australian Centre of Excellence in Melanoma Imaging and Diagnosis (ACEMID).

In addition to all of the amazing presentations and research shared, in the opening session we were treated to an insightful Welcome to Country by Uncle Brendan Kerin, and an update from The Hon Mark Butler MP, Minister for Health and Aged Care. Prof Georgina Long AO & Prof Richard Scolyer AO reflected on how the melanoma landscape has changed & the roadmap to reach zero deaths from melanoma, including consistent sun smart messaging, national targeted skin cancer screening, advancing treatment & supportive care. There was also a sneak preview of the Conquering Skin Cancer movie, which will be in cinemas soon!

A huge thank you to all our #AMC2024 sponsors and exhibitors for your incredible support. We could not have had such an engaging conference without you.
Special mention to our major sponsors MSD Australia, Medison Pharma, Bristol Myers Squibb and Pierre Fabre Group.

A truly wonderful few days for the industry and its stakeholders.
